In 1956, the antiquities of Burdur and the surrounding area were collected and protected in the library building, the only surviving structure of the Bulguroğlu (Pirkulzade) Madrasah, and the first nucleus of the museum was created and the exhibition halls of the Burdur Museum were opened for the first time on 12 June 1969. When the museum, which has a rich collection, was insufficient in terms of settlement, the museum was built in 2001 by taking into consideration the same architecture as the PİRKULZADE library building (18th century Ottoman structure) in the administrative building, conference hall and other units. In 2006, it was opened to the world of visitors and science.
