It is 25 km east of Silifke town centre, 2 km northwest of Narlıkuyu port, 5 km northwest of Korykos. There are two natural wonder depressions, called the Obruk, each of which consists of rocky, wide and deep pits. These collapses were formed by the collapse of the hollowed-out ceiling as a result of the underground waters melting and discharging the lime layer for millennia. Both spaces merged over time, eventually forming the present-day underground cavernous gorge. These collapses were considered sacred and used in Antiquity.
