The efforts to establish the first museum in Nevşehir started as a result of the efforts of Hamit Özalp, the Director of the Central Library of the time. The historical artifacts collected from the environment between 1963-1964 were stored in a room of the library. In 1966, food bank and the infants' school, which are part of the Damat İbrahim Pasha Complex, were opened to visit in 1967 by the Ministry of Culture and Culture. In 1987, it was moved to its place within the current Cultural Site. The museum has two exhibition halls, archaeological and ethnographic. The area around Nevşehir consists of the largest open air museums in the world with its open-to-visit museums, underground cities and churches located there. Under the Nevsehir Museum Directorate;
