The Erzincan Museum was opened to visitors on May 3, 2023. The museum has a total area of 2,030 m² and operates across two floors. The ground floor comprises thematic exhibitions and archaeological artifacts. It features models and interactive displays related to a village settlement of the Kura–Araxes Culture, Altıntepe Fortress, the Apadana (the reception hall of the Altıntepe Palace), as well as kurgans and chamber tombs.
Selected highlights of Erzincan archaeology are exhibited, comprising artifacts from the Urartian, Roman, and Eastern Roman (Byzantine) periods. Among the archaeological finds, notable examples include metal and ceramic objects from the Urartian period, as well as the floor mosaic of the Altıntepe Church dating to the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) period.
On the second floor, in addition to thematic presentations reflecting Anatolian ethnographic culture and the daily life of Erzincan—including its culinary and bathhouse traditions—there are collections illustrating everyday life. These include kitchen utensils and equipment, clothing, textile products, and jewelry from the Seljuk, Ottoman, and Republican periods.
The floor also features a Natural Disasters Section dedicated to the earthquakes of 1939 and 1992 that affected Erzincan, as well as a multimedia room where a documentary about Erzincan is screened.
The museum is open to visitors every day except Mondays, between 08:00 and 17:00.
