ZONGULDAK MINING MUSEUM

Zonguldak Mining Museum (ZMM) is located in the Zonguldak Basin and in the city center of the country's industrial pioneer Zonguldak province. The museum building was built on an area of 7000 m2 and opened as the First Mining Museum in Türkiye on 09.12.2016. The Mine Museum consists of 1000 m2 closed museum exhibition areas. Garden exhibition area and 700 meter long gallery and TTC training facilities. Zonguldak Mining Museum sheds light on the history of bituminous coal  in Zonguldak with its museum concept organized with the concept of contemporary museology. Foyer "Zonguldak is the capital of labor.": Designed in accordance with the slogan, the foyer tried to convey to the visitors the relationship of mining with social life. In this direction, E.K.I. artifacts related to social life such as radio house vehicles, various plaques, film machines, championship trophies belonging to Kömür Sports, and a commemorative book of roofs are exhibited. In addition, it is used in the shopping center called Merkez Ekonoma, where miners do their shopping at lower prices; works such as weigher and cash registers are exhibited.

Ground Floor: In this section, the visitors of the Museum are informed about the history of mining in our country until today. In addition, “E.K.I. under the supervision of the "Manpower Education Branch Directorate" trainers, the 15. a model named “Zonguldak Basin” made by students of “Semester Apprentice Course” is exhibited.

1. Floor Exhibition Hall: On the first floor, various artifacts belonging to the sections of underground measuring devices and rescue work, excavation works and personal protective materials, tools used in measuring processes, risk assessments in occupational accidents and occupational diseases, workshops and lavatory, manpower training publications and statistical yearbooks are exhibited on the first floor. With the works exhibited in this hall, information about the business segments of mining is conveyed to the museum visitors.

2. Floor Exhibition Hall: On the second floor, visitors are given detailed information about the phases of the coal mine, what conditions are necessary for its formation, and how long it takes to form, through kiosks and projection presentations. In addition, fossils of leaves, stems and branches from various geological times are exhibited. In addition, the product tree showcase about the use of coal mine as a raw material in many different areas was presented to the visitors.
